"They really don't want us to know the cost" (My True Story)

I needed checks for my business, so I thought I would just go to my bank online and order checks. Wrong! The error message told me that I must...... continued here...

So...the error message told me that I must call my bank. So, I called my bank and was told that they could not order checks online either. I can help you she says. So she begins to look up my checks to tell me what they would cost. After several minutes she made the statement that "they really don't want us to know what they cost I guess they just want it to be a surprise" and then she said she would have to call the supplier and would call me back.

After a few minutes she did indeed call me back with the price. But I was shocked that they wanted to charge me $109.23, but fortunately for me, I was told I qualified for a $35 discount so the checks would only cost me $74.23...for only 250 checks!

I then told her I wanted 1000 checks and asked how much would they cost and would there be a discount for a larger quanity? Oh no I was told, they actually would cost more as you only get one discount...so 1000 checks would cost $401.92!!! after the discount! After I had spent over 11 minutes on the phone with 2 phone calls she seemed disappointed when I told her I would just order online...for a lot less!!
